Maxim’s MAX17201/5 and MAX17211/5 are ultra-low-power, stand-alone fuel gauge integrated circuits that implement the Maxim ModelGauge m5 algorithm without requiring host interaction for configuration. These ICs provide precision measurements of current, voltage, and temperature, and provide accurate estimation of time-to-empty and time-to-full. A Maxim 1-Wire® or 2-wire I2C interface provides access to data and control registers. To prevent battery-pack cloning, the ICs integrate SHA-256 authentication with a 160-bit secret key, incorporating a unique, 64-bit ID. These integrated circuits are ideal for handheld devices including smartphones, tablets, and cameras.
